FAQs

Questions we get asked a lot

A few of the things people ring up and ask before they come down. If your question isn't here, just give us a call — we're happy to help.

Do I need to book, or can I just turn up?

You can just turn up. Most of our work is walk-in — a puncture, a tyre that's worn down, a warning light that's come on. For bigger jobs like a full set of alloys going off for refurbishment it's worth a quick call first so we can make sure we've got the space, but for tyres you can pop straight down to Rushworth Street.

How long does it take to fit tyres?

For most cars and vans we'll have you sorted while you wait — often inside the hour if the tyre's in stock. If we need to order a particular size in, it's usually here within a couple of hours the same day.

Can you find the right tyre if I don't know the size?

Yes. Give us your registration and we'll pull up the exact sizes your vehicle came with. You can do that on the contact form on this website, or just read the number plate out to us over the phone.

Do you fit budget tyres as well as premium?

We do — everything from budget tyres that meet all the UK legal and safety standards, through the well-known mid-range brands, up to premium names like Michelin and Continental. We'll give you the honest pros and cons and let you decide. No hard sell.

Can my puncture be repaired instead of replaced?

Often, yes. If the damage is in the main tread area and the tyre's otherwise sound, we can do a proper repair to British Standard that's just as safe as before. If it's in the sidewall, or the tyre's been driven on flat, we'll tell you straight that it needs replacing.

My tyre pressure warning light is on — can you sort it?

We can. It's usually either a genuinely soft tyre or a TPMS sensor that's reached the end of its life. We'll diagnose which it is, and if a sensor's failed we can supply and program a new one. It's also an MOT failure if that light stays on, so it's worth getting done.

What does alloy wheel refurbishment involve?

It depends on the wheel and the finish. We do standard refurbishment for kerbed and corroded alloys, diamond cutting on a lathe for that machined factory face, powder coating in any colour, and welding for cracked or buckled rims. Tell us what's happened to the wheels and we'll recommend the right option.

Do you come out to me if I break down?

Yes — we offer emergency callouts for punctures and blowouts. If you're stuck at the roadside give us a ring and we'll let you know how quickly we can get to you. Anything urgent, phone us rather than filling in a form.

Whereabouts are you and when are you open?

We're at 5 Rushworth St E, Burnley, BB10 1XD, just off the town centre. We're open Monday to Friday 9am–5:30pm and Saturday 9am–5pm, closed Sundays.

How do I pay?

We take card and cash. If you want a price before you come down, call us or send an enquiry with your reg and we'll give you a clear, no-obligation quote first.
