A cracked rim doesn't always mean a new wheel
The roads round here don't do your wheels any favours, and one decent pothole can crack or buckle an alloy in an instant. The good news is a fair few can be saved — we can TIG-weld cracks and straighten buckles so the wheel holds air and runs true again.
Safety comes first, mind. We won't touch cracks near the mounting face or anything structural, and if a wheel isn't safe to repair we'll say so rather than bodge it. Where it can be done, it's a lot cheaper than a replacement — especially on the bigger diameter wheels.
